The WFUCC Psychology Internship Program requires all clinical staff, including psychology interns, live within an approximately 60 minute radius of the university as part of the after-hours on-call rotation service.

In addition to education and training requirements and preferences specified above, WFUCC Psychology Internship requires that matched interns complete a pre-employment screening, conducted by the Office of Human Resources, including a drug test and background check. As a drug free workplace, we do not tolerate the use of drugs that are not prescribed by a physician or are illegal in the state of North Carolina, including marijuana. Criminal background checks are reviewed to determine eligibility for employment. Failure to satisfactorily complete the pre-employment screening will result in termination of the match agreement.

Interns are also entitled to purchase a parking permit.  Transportation will deduct the cost monthly, pre-tax, from employees’ checks if they prefer.  More information on University provided benefits can be found at: http://hr.wfu.edu/benefits/

As staff members of the UCC, interns will be allotted generous professional development funds to attend conferences and trainings during the internship year.  Interns are assigned office space and clerical support equivalent to other full-time professional staff.  This includes private, fully-furnished offices, a laptop computer, and internet access, in addition to access to a library of assessment instruments and therapy materials.  The UCC uses Titanium for scheduling and clinical notes, and all interns have access to Titanium on their laptops along with other campus computing resources.  All offices are equipped with a panic button that alerts University Police in the event of an emergency.
