Bio

Clinical Interests

I am excited to help people work through different parts of their story, whether that is their experiences with mental and emotional health and/or relationships. I have previously worked with students who were navigating difficult life changes, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and balancing school and life outside of school. My hope for this internship is to be immersed by many cultures and walks of life, learning from students and growing in my own understanding of how these things impact a person’s identity, their counseling, and their futures.

Counseling Style

My counseling style is evolving, however I do hope to implement modalities such as Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as focusing on trauma focused therapies. I desire to implement ways of engaging the physical with the mental and emotional, noting that each of these areas can be impacted by one another.

Personal

I am new to Winston Salem, having moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico in August. Although North Carolina is very green, I am sure it will grow on me and I look forward to exploring more of the state. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and kids, running, seeing friends, listening to podcasts, and traveling. If you see me around campus, I probably will have a coffee in my hand because life can be tiring (but it is still good!).
