Bio

Clinical Interests
While I have experience working with individuals from a wide range of presenting concerns and backgrounds and have a wide range of interests and experiences as a generalist clinician, I have a strong interest in working with young adults as they walk the path of learning about who they are apart from their families and expectations of others, which can include self-discovery, values explorations, and navigating family or origin concerns. I have a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma, whether more recent or historical, and helping them navigate the associated challenges. Additionally, I enjoy helping individuals understand better why they engage in certain behavioral and relational patterns. I have a great deal of experience working with sexual and gender minorities and have spent many years researching what results in a positive therapeutic experience with this population. I also have experience working with multicultural concerns and have an interest in helping individuals navigate religious trauma or religious differences from their families of origin.

Counseling Style
I tend to shape my clinical approach to meet a client where they are, which can mean incorporating a variety of approaches into my work with an individual. That being said, I consistently work through a compassionate lens, use a trauma informed approach, and use the relationship between the therapist and client as a tool. I have been told that I create a warm, safe environment for individuals to explore their concerns.

Personal
I spent the first 21 years of my life in Georgia, completed my first Master’s degree in Indiana, spent many years in Kentucky, and moved to North Carolina in July 2026 after completing my pre-doctoral internship in Maryland. I enjoy music, crafting, board games, writing cards, going to the movies, and going to the farmer’s market. I hope to get back into singing or theatre in the coming years
