Bio

Clinical Interests

My clinical interests involve fostering the growth potential that we all have and facilitating the self-exploration of my clients. I enjoy helping individuals to focus on the meaning of their experiences and to reframe thought patterns that may hinder adaptive meaning-making and wellness. I believe that counseling is a collaborative and client-centered process. As a counselor, my role is to embody genuineness and to empower my clients to be their authentic selves.

Counseling Style

I believe in being an extra set of ears and eyes for the client by providing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. My counseling philosophy is rooted in the principles of person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and existential therapy. All of these models guide my approach to understanding and valuing a person’s subjective reality and their engagement in self-exploration. Additionally, I believe cultural knowledge and the acknowledgment of diverse backgrounds significantly builds trust and fosters effective therapy within any community.

Personal

I am from Charlotte, NC, and I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I have a one-year-old pit bull named Sixx, and he takes up the majority of my time outside of work. In addition to this, I love to attend concerts, exercise, travel with friends, watch reality TV, and read books in my free time.
