Bio

Clinical Interests
Child welfare experience/involvement, navigating relationships, interpersonal violence, substance use disorder and prevention, marginalized populations, intergenerational trauma, multicultural trauma specifically associated with Indigenous populations, and emerging adulthood.

Counseling Style
The foundation of my counseling approach is strongly embedded in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere that creates a sense of collaboration and respect for one another. I frequently lean on modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, written exposure therapy, and motivational interviewing. I reference handouts, books, and podcasts regularly, as I believe therapeutic benefit is most found outside of the therapy office.

Personal
I moved to Winston-Salem from Northern Arizona in 2023 and would describe myself as a mountain girl who is most happy when cozied in a blanket, while reading a book on a cold, snowy day. During the 363 days of the year where it’s not snowing here, I enjoy spending quality time with my dogs, whether that’s going on a hike in the woods, swimming at a nearby watering hole, playing frisbee, or snuggling on the couch. You may also hear me singing in the hallway from time to time, as I often sing without thought. I love the work that I do and find such fulfillment in watching others find their footing again and learning how to thrive as their own person.
