Bio

Clinical Interests
My clinical experience has involved helping individuals to navigate a wide range of life’s challenges, with a particular focus on fostering resilience, self-compassion, and meaningful living. Centered around fostering psychological flexibility and trauma-informed practice, my goal is to support student skill development across domains, including acceptance, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and present moment awareness. I often collaborate with students to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and perfectionism, among other presenting concerns. I enjoy helping students to address race and culture-related stress, identity exploration and development, life transitions, wellness goals, and interpersonal relationship concerns. I have an affinity for working with marginalized populations, graduate students, and students managing substance use recovery. I also value supporting the professional growth of other clinicians through clinical supervision that promotes skill development, insight, and confidence.

Counseling Style
I operate primarily from an acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) lens. I also draw from person-centered, interpersonal, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and feminist counseling to support students. Collaboration and empathetic listening are foundational to my work as a counselor. I help students to access self compassion, values based exploration, and cognitive as well as emotional flexibility in the counseling room.

Personal
I enjoy reading sci-fi and afro-futuristic books. When I am not in Winston, I am most likely visiting family and friends. As someone who enjoys being in the comfort of her own home, I am often watching television and movies. I also enjoy traveling, exploring new areas, hiking, listening to music, watching theater and concerts, learning to crochet, being creative with paint, and eating desserts.
