Bio
Clinical Interests
My clinical interests are identity development, adjustment and acculturation, complex stress, complex trauma, liberatory health exploration, and health psychology– particularly as they intersect and impact people who hold marginalized identities. I am also passionate about student mental health, personal perceptions of quality of life, performance optimization, and group therapy as a tool for connection and growth. To approach these areas, I enjoy the integration of somatic, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practices, with an emphasis on fostering community resilience, self-efficacy, and personal well-being.
Counseling Style
My counseling style is humanistic, collaborative, and client-informed. My goal is to create a space where clients feel respected, heard, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment. I take a client-centered and guided-by-the-client approach, honoring each individual’s autonomy, lived expertise, and inner wisdom. My work is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care, and often includes space for exploring spirituality and existential meaning as part of each person’s unique process. I also strive to understand clients within the broader systems that shape mental health, identity, community, and the human experience.
I’ve received formal training in Cognitive therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive behavioral analysis system of psychotherapy (CBASP), and Internal family systems (IFS).
Personal
Although I spent my teen years mostly in Las Vegas, I have lived in multiple cities and countries throughout my life. These experiences have led me to value community and understand how context can shape our personhood. I most recently moved to Winston-Salem from Los Angeles—which I ultimately consider my hometown. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy creating art and exploring new forms, attending concerts, spending time with my loved ones, taking my dog paddleboarding, cuddling with my cats, tending to my plants, and traveling.
