Counseling Style
In clinical practice, I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, collaborative, and humanistic intervention techniques. The combinational use of these approaches allows for flexibility to treat clients based on more individualized needs. I consider myself as using more of a multimodal approach to psychotherapy – sometimes using several intervention techniques in one session. I believe that it depends on the client’s individual needs when determining which approach will work best. However, I usually begin with the person-centered approach when starting with a new client. I also strive to remain honest and upfront with my clients; through this, I promote a trusting therapeutic bond. While maintaining a supportive and acceptant environment, I further implement subtle but effective interventions that align with the client’s therapy goals.
Personal
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, laughing, spending time with family and friends and eating delicious food. During childhood, I enjoyed helping my mom create family scrapbooks, this has now become one of my personal hobbies. In addition to this, I enjoy reading books, listening to true crime podcasts, watching new tv shows and listening to any Beyoncé album.
